In 1976, a group of parents, wanting a different education for their pre-school children, decided to open a Montessori school.   Since that day, Montessori Children's House of Southbridge (MCHS) has successfully educated over 1000 children, between the ages of 2.9 and 6, in the tri-community area. 

We are accepting Enrollment for 2010-2011.  As of June 1 we only have 2 (Two) spaces available, so please call soon to schedule your visit!  

Located just 30 minutes south of Worcester, MA and less than one hour northeast of Hartford, CT., MCHS is a non-profit organization with an active Board of Trustees comprised of both parents and community members.   We are also an affiliate of the American Montessori Society.

Montessori Children's House of Southbridge (MCHS) strives to create an environment where academic excellence can be achieved within a community that promotes creativity and responsibility.   In the Montessori tradition, MCHS seeks to help each child discover their joy in learning as well as their place in the greater society.   By strengthening the bonds between the parents, children and staff of MCHS, the sense of family will become a stable base from which each child can explore themselves, their community and the world.

NEW FOR 2010 - 2011 SCHOOL YEAR

CLASSES /SESSIONS 

MCHS offers three session options.  Please review the sessions and contact us with any questions or to schedule your visit.  

INTRODUCTION TO MONTESSORI— 2 Day

MCHS begins teaching at 2.9 years.  This 2 day option is mostly sought by parents who wish to begin their children right at 2.9. 

 
3 DAY

Again this 3 day session offers a bit more of in school time, yet still allowing the child home time during the week.

 
5 DAY & KINDERGARTEN

All students are welcome for our 5 day session and those in their Kindergarten year are required to attend this session.

 

PLAYGROUND

MCHS has been working hard, to reconfigure the school sessions for next year, allowing new students to experience all that MCHS has to offer.
